“Miley, what’s good?”

Now that’s what I call an acceptance speech. On Sunday evening, two of Hollywood’s most scandalous performers went head to head at MTV’s biggest event of the year.

On Sunday, August 30, Miley Cyrus hosted the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards. According to the former Disney Channel starlet, MTV decided to have her host this year to avoid any happenings that could be similar to her infamous twerking incident during last year’s show. In case you forgot or you live under a rock with SpongeBob’s best friend Patrick, Cyrus twerked to Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines.” It was Cyrus’s official way of saying goodbye to her teenybopper persona and hello to her new and “improved” bad girl image.

With 11 wardrobe changes, Cyrus went above and beyond to make this year’s show one to remember. From an eye ball bikini to a rainbow rectangle to a dress with critically placed balls on it, Cyrus turned quite a few heads. By a few heads, I mean the entire audience, plus the nine million people watching at home.

There were many celebrities who made headlines for their antics at the MTV Video Music Awards. Kanye for President, Justin Bieber crying; magazines and blogs were exploding. To begin the show, singer Taylor Swift was joined by rapper/singer Nicki Minaj to perform “Bad Blood.” This performance put the feud that developed between the two to rest. So that was it; Minaj did not cause any more trouble at the show and was a civil audience member and award winner. Yeah right. That was anything but the case.

After receiving her award for Best Hip Hop Video for “Anaconda,” Minaj thought that it was the best time to confront Cyrus about her comments. Cyrus had commented about the feud that Minaj had with Taylor Swift, calling Minaj “not too kind.” Apparently, the “Super Bass” singer did not appreciate Cyrus’s opinion and the fact that she spoke to the press about it. Cyrus seemed annoyed by Minaj’s confrontation, saying that the press manipulates everything she says and then congratulated Minaj on her award. Obviously, Cyrus did not say this as kindly as I worded it; it’s Miley Cyrus. After a long sigh, filled with aggravation, Cyrus turned to the camera, and moved on to the next segment.

Minaj still seemed very upset with Cyrus and continued to mouth “what’s good” towards the singer.

It seems that with Minaj, when one door closes, another one opens. She may have ended her fight with Taylor Swift, but created another one with Miley Cyrus. Unlike Swift, however, Cyrus isn’t as easy to confront. Both women are not afraid of the press and what they say, and they are certainly not afraid of each other.

This isn’t the first run in with another celebrity that either woman has been a part of and I am sure that this incident will not be the last.
