On Monday April 6, Hilary Duff excited her fans once again by releasing the new single, “Sparks” from her upcoming album This Heart.

Like her previous single, “All About You,” “Sparks” is a fun and catchy dance-pop song. Duff incorporates whistling in between her sweet-sounding vocals to give the song a flirty vibe. This has been paired with a flirty image of Duff looking over her shoulder on the single’s album cover.

In addition to this, Duff also steps out of her comfort zone and has released a song with more risqué lyrics about the relationship between a man and a woman. In fact, the lyrics “You can promise castle, treasures, babies; I don’t care ‘cause right now you’re just enough for me” suggests that Hilary’s next relationship after her recent divorce from former NHL player, Mike Comrie, will take a more care-free route. This is also evident in the lyrics, “Everything I thought I’d learn goes out the window.”

It is clear that she has completely shed her Disney Channel skin and is even breaking away from the soft image of herself that she created for her last album, “Dignity.” The new single has received mostly positive reviews and is sure to be a hit at summer parties.

“Sparks” is available now on iTunes and her upcoming album is slated for a summer 2015 release.
