The Campus Activities Board is widely known for putting on events such as trivia and the Assumption favorite, Bingo. With a new year come new ideas.

The Welcome Weekend events, co-sponsored by Student Government Association were a huge success. Karaoke night brought in students to perform songs of their choosing. The singing duo of “Two Worlds” sang a medley of Disney covers that got the crowd amped up.

CAB also hosted an enormous game of bingo; prizes were awarded and smiles shared. On Saturday, Paul Ramsey hosted “Mind Games,” in which students voted on what their peers were to do in front of everyone.

CAB looks forward to upcoming events: Claytime, Headphone Disco and Spa Day.

In Claytime, similar to Paint Nights, each participant paints a piece of ceramic dishware. The company will fire it in their kiln and deliver it back to campus. Sign-ups are from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. on January 29 and 30. Claytime will come to campus Saturday, February 7 at 8 p.m.

Headphone Disco was brought to campus two years ago is coming back. Students wear a pair of headphones with an option of two stations of music. Students can switch between these stations and dance along to their favorites. While one person may be dancing to a Britney Spears song, the other person could be listening to “Let it Go,” from Frozen. From the outside, the area is completely silent (since the music comes through headphones). This event will be held Friday February 13 from 10 p.m until 12 a.m. in Charlie’s.

The last of CAB’s February events is Spa Day, which falls on Valentine’s Day. There will be massage chairs and tips on relaxation methods. Peers Advocating Wellness for Students will provide mocktails, and Reach Out Center’s Campus Cursive will provide students with an opportunity to write Valentine’s Day letters to strangers. This event will be held at 8 p.m. in Charlie’s.

If you have an idea for a performer, event or weekend program, shoot us an email at or stop by our office in Charlie’s. We’re happy to hear from you and do our best to provide hounds with the events they want.
